Top 11 Best Carpentry and Joinery Companies in Dubai

Residential Joinery

A wardrobe that jams after one summer is usually not a design problem. It is a materials, moisture or workmanship problem.

Dubai has hundreds of carpenters, joinery workshops and fit-out contractors. Directory sites list them by the dozen. Most listings tell you a name and an area, and little else.

This guide compares eleven companies that work in joinery. It covers what each one does, how it is set up, and which projects suit it. It also explains the terms, materials and questions that matter before you sign a quote.

Table of Contents

How We Compiled This List

Many “top joinery companies” articles are published by one of the firms they rank. Several of the sources we reviewed follow that pattern. Others are directory pages that list companies alphabetically with no checks.

We took a different approach.

  • We used independent sources where possible

These included trade press such as Design Middle East and Gulf News, and company profiles.

  • We treated company claims as claims

If a fact comes only from a company’s own website, we say so.

  • We left out unverifiable details

Where a founding year, headcount or certification could not be confirmed, we omitted it.

  • We focused on Dubai

One firm in the sources we reviewed works from Abu Dhabi, so it is not listed here.

Difference between Carpentry vs Joinery

The two terms overlap, and Dubai companies often use them together.

  • Carpentry is the broader trade. It covers site work such as framing, doors, partitions and repairs.
  • Joinery is precision woodwork, usually made in a workshop. Examples are kitchens, wardrobes, wall panels, reception desks and built-in units.

In practice, a joinery company designs and manufactures items in a factory, then installs them on site. A carpenter often works directly on site with hand and power tools.

The distinction matters when you compare quotes. A factory-made kitchen is measured, cut on CNC machines and finished under controlled conditions. A site-built unit depends more on the individual carpenter.

1. MD Design & Fit-Out

MD Design & Fit-Out is a Dubai design-and-build company based in Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 1. Its joinery service covers kitchens, wardrobes and walk-in closets, TV units, wall panelling, headboards, doors and frames. It also makes reception desks, workstations, counters and display units for commercial clients.

The company describes a seven-step process: design and measurement, material selection, production, assembly and finishing, quality inspection, packaging, and installation. It says the same team handles the work from design to installation. Its website states that the factory uses CNC machinery for cutting and finishing.

Materials listed: solid wood, MDF and HDF, plywood including marine plywood for humid areas, natural veneer, HPL and laminate, acrylic and painted finishes, and glass.

Lead times (company-stated): 2 to 4 weeks for standard joinery. Complex work such as modular kitchens or walk-in wardrobes takes 4 to 6 weeks. The company states a one-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and hardware issues. For commercial projects, it says it can supply fire-rated materials to meet Dubai Civil Defence requirements.

Documented projects: a villa fit-out in Al Barsha, an apartment fit-out in Motor City, and a café fit-out in Jumeirah. Its website shows a Google rating of 4.5 from 18 reviews, so the review base is still small.

Best for: Villa, apartment and small commercial owners who want design, manufacture and installation from one team.

2. Al Shirawi Interiors

Al Shirawi Interiors is part of the Al Shirawi group. A January 2026 Design Middle East profile says its joinery factories in Dubai and Sharjah cover about 100,000 square feet. The same profile lists dedicated facilities for civil, MEP, joinery, upholstery, architectural metal and solid surfaces. It also reports that the company is doubling its manufacturing capacity.

The profile lists projects including InterContinental Dubai Marina, DIFC Square, American Hospital and Mr. C Residences in Jumeirah. The company was also featured in Design Middle East’s Fit-Out Powerlist 2025.

Best for: Hospitals, hotels, malls and large branded residences that need manufacturing at scale.

3. Depa

Depa is one of the largest interior contractors headquartered in Dubai. It was founded in 1996 and is listed on Nasdaq Dubai. Its work spans hospitality, residential and commercial projects, including fit-outs in major towers.

Depa’s joinery is part of a wider luxury fit-out offer. That suits projects where the joinery package sits inside a much larger contract.

Best for: Luxury hospitality and high-end residential developments.

4. Summertown Interiors

Summertown Interiors began in 1997 as a trader in wooden doors for multistorey buildings in the UAE. Its own website says it opened a joinery factory in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in 2000. The company now focuses on design-and-build and sustainable workplace fit-outs.

Named projects on its website include Schneider Electric’s office in Dubai and Mediclinic Airport Road in Abu Dhabi. Its website also claims that in 2008 it became the first UAE fit-out company in LEED Gold certified interiors.

Best for: Corporate offices and workplace projects that value sustainability credentials.

5. Abanos

Abanos says it was established in 1985 and is based in Dubai. It describes itself as a maker of custom and standard joinery components, with its own production facilities. The company says it employs more than 1,000 people and holds FSC certification.

Those figures come from the company’s own profile, so confirm them directly. Abanos works for architects, designers and contractors across the UAE and wider GCC.

Best for: Contractors and consultants who need large joinery packages made to drawings.

6. ME FITOUT

ME FITOUT is a Dubai fit-out contractor. Design Middle East’s Fit-Out Powerlist 2025 profile describes a manufacturing facility of over 100,000 square feet. It lists in-house joinery, upholstery, metal and glass work.

Named projects include NH Clinic in Business Bay and the Biltmore Hotel Villas in Al Barsha. It also supplied a joinery and doors package for Eco Drive in Al Quoz.

Best for: Healthcare, hospitality and commercial projects needing joinery within a full fit-out.

7. Design Infinity

Design Infinity is a Dubai fit-out company. Gulf News reported in 2022 that it moved into a 60,000 square foot factory in Dubai Investment Park. The factory handles joinery, metal and glass. The article says the division has 225 team members.

Design Middle East also reports a separate 40,000-square-foot glass and metal factory in Dubai Investment Park.

Best for: Projects that combine joinery with metal and glass in one package.

8. Aujan Interiors

Aujan Interiors was founded in 2013 by Manu Abraham and Nithin Gangadharan. Design Middle East ranked it sixth in the Fit-Out Powerlist 2025. The profile lists in-house joinery, upholstery, paint and MEP divisions.

Notable projects named include 9th Cut, Mara, Home Bakery and Coterie. These are mostly food-and-beverage and lifestyle venues.

Best for: Restaurants, cafés and boutique commercial spaces.

9. INC Group

INC Group is a design and fit-out contractor. It reports capabilities in more than 20 countries across the Middle East and Africa. Design Middle East’s profile credits it with 17 years of experience. Notable projects include One Offices at One Za’abeel in Dubai.

The profile does not describe a joinery factory. Ask INC how joinery is produced and by whom before you rely on it for a joinery-only package.

Best for: Workplace and corporate fit-outs where joinery is one part of a larger contract.

10. Bespoke Joinery

Bespoke Joinery operates from Dubai Investment Park. A manufacturing directory lists a factory of about 2,000 square metres with 55 employees. The listed equipment includes CNC routers, a veneer press, a paint booth and metal-working tools.

Listed clients include restaurants and venues in JVC and DIFC, and private villas in Dubai Hills and Al Barari. The directory page is a profile and not an audit, so confirm details with the company.

Best for: Hospitality outlets and private villas that need made-to-order pieces.

11. Grand Woodworks

Grand Woodworks describes itself as a maker of custom wood-finished fittings and furniture. Its profile says it was founded in 2006 and has more than 30 employees. It lists banks, retail complexes, hotels and private villas among its clients.

The profile does not give a verified address, and we could not confirm the claims independently. Request references before you commit.

Best for: Smaller custom fittings and furniture projects.

What Do Carpentry and Joinery Companies in Dubai Make?

Most joinery companies cover a similar core range. Scope varies by firm.

  • Kitchens: Cabinets, drawers, worktops and storage.
  • Wardrobes and walk-in closets: Hinged, sliding and fitted designs.
  • Doors and frames: Internal doors, fire-rated doors and decorative entrances.
  • Wall panelling and feature walls: Timber, veneer and laminate finishes.
  • TV units and living-room furniture.
  • Commercial joinery: Reception desks, workstations and meeting-room tables.
  • Hospitality and retail joinery: Counters, bar fronts and display units.

What Materials Are Used In Joinery Production

Joinery Materials & Finishes

Material choice decides how the piece ages in Dubai’s heat and humidity.

MaterialTypical useNotes
Solid woodDoors, frames, feature furnitureMoves with humidity; needs good finishing
MDFPainted cabinets and panelsStable and smooth; avoid prolonged water contact
HDFDense painted componentsDenser than MDF
PlywoodCarcasses and structural partsStrong; marine grade suits damp areas
VeneerNatural wood look on an engineered coreMore stable than solid timber
HPL and laminateWorktops, wardrobes, commercial surfacesDurable and easy to clean
GlassCabinet fronts and panelsAdds light and display

Ask each company which core material and edging it uses. In kitchens and bathrooms, moisture-resistant boards matter more than finish colour.

How to Choose a Carpentry or Joinery Company in Dubai

Commercial Joinery

Check Whether the Factory Is Real

Some companies manufacture in-house. Others subcontract the work. Ask to visit the workshop or see photos with dates.

Match the Company to the Job Size

A hospital contractor may not prioritise a single wardrobe. A small workshop may struggle with a hotel package. Ask for projects close to your size.

Compare Written Scopes, Not Just Prices

A quote should list materials, board thickness, hardware brands, finishes and installation. Without that detail, you cannot compare two prices fairly.

Confirm Lead Times

Joinery is made to measure, so schedules matter. Ask for production and installation dates in writing.

Ask About Warranty

Find out what is covered and for how long. Check whether hardware and finish are included.

Check Approvals for Commercial Work

Commercial fit-outs may need fire-rated materials and authority approvals. Confirm who handles them.

Ask for References

Speak to two recent clients with similar work.

What Affects Joinery Cost in Dubai?

We found no reliable public price list for custom joinery in Dubai, so this guide does not quote AED figures. Prices vary too widely by specification.

These factors move a quote most:

  • Material and core board: Solid wood costs more than MDF or laminate.
  • Finish: Spray paint, veneer and natural lacquer differ widely.
  • Hardware: Soft-close hinges, drawers and lifts add cost.
  • Complexity: Curved panels and integrated lighting take longer.
  • Size and quantity: Repeat items cost less per unit.
  • Installation conditions: Access, floors and site readiness matter.
  • Other trades: Electrical points, plumbing and wall preparation may sit outside the joinery quote.

Ask each company for an itemised quote. Compare the same specification across all of them.

Common Mistakes When Hiring a Joinery Contractor

  • Choosing on price alone: The cheapest quote often uses thinner boards and basic hardware.
  • Skipping the site measurement: Walls and floors in Dubai buildings are rarely perfectly level.
  • Not specifying moisture-resistant boards: Kitchens and bathrooms need them.
  • Ignoring the drawings: Approve shop drawings and 3D views before production starts.
  • Forgetting other trades: Electrical and plumbing points must match the joinery plan.
  • Accepting vague warranties: Get the terms in writing.
  • Underestimating lead time: Complex pieces take longer than standard ones.

Conclusion

Dubai’s joinery market runs from large contractors with factories of 100,000 square feet to small workshops making a single kitchen. The right choice depends on your project’s size, finish and schedule.

Shortlist two or three companies. Visit their workshops, compare itemised quotes, and check references before you commit.
